A well-prepared meal can do wonders for your mood—and when it is delivered only for you by a stranger, it arrives like an angel of mercy.

That’s why, when a restaurant worker went above and beyond the call of duty to deliver a special meal to Rick Rhoads’s sick father, the grateful son felt compelled to thank the employee in person.

Rick, who lives in Michigan, was distraught after learning that his 86-year-old father in Pickering, Ontario, was in need of heartier food.

Dale, who has been battling pancreatic cancer while temporarily living at an assisted living home, told his son that he really missed eating some of his favorite foods – primarily cheeseburgers and fries. But since he was unable to leave the facility, Dale could only reminisce about the delicious dinners of his earlier days.
