This airline is protecting the oceans below by ensuring that its passengers take responsibility for themselves while they’re on vacation.

Hawaiian Airlines recently announced that they would be giving away free samples of non-toxic sunscreen to all of their passengers flying from North American destinations to the islands throughout the month of April.

The initiative is in light of recent research that discovered that two ingredients in common sunscreens, oxybenzone and octinoxate, can have damaging effects on coral reefs.

The sunscreen being distributed by the airline, which is the “Eco Formula” recipe from Raw Elements, is certified as all-natural, chemical-free, and reef-safe.
