Theresa May is calling furious top ministers to a crisis meeting today as she tries to salvage her Brexit plans in just a few hours.

Her 11-strong Brexit ‘ war cabinet ‘ is expected to discuss a crucial paper on the UK’s backup plan for customs after 2020.

Mr Davis refused to rule out quitting last night, before reportedly holding ‘inconclusive’ and ‘very difficult’ talks with Mrs May.
Brexiteer anger was stoked further by reports that Cabinet Remainers saw the document days before some Brexiteers, including Boris Johnson.
A source told the Times it was a “disgrace” and an “utter shambles”.
The row is over the customs ‘backstop’ – a backup plan which kicks in on 1 January 2021 if there’s no deal to stop a hard Irish border.
Brexiteers are angry at the failure to set an end date for the backstop, which they fear could keep Britain in “purgatory” for years.
